The first “Exploring Pathways for Growth” round table event at the Park Hotel, Diss on the 27th February was a great success. With business owners and leaders, and other support organisations attending the event and meeting seven providers and business advocates of pathway programmes and support for business growth and scaling.

It was a lively event full of information and discussion and was well-received by all who attended. At this event, businesses met with representatives and advocates for Tech Nation, Enterprise Europe Networks Innovate UK Scaleup and Innovate to Succeed programmes, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK , Invest East’s Investment Readiness Programme, Department for International Trade and our very own Scale Up New Anglia and New Anglia Growth Hub Skills Adviser.

All of these are fully funded programmes of support available to growing and scaling businesses across our counties, and in most programmes, across the UK. A few of the attendees were aware of some of these opportunities but rarely were they aware of all of them. These programmes offer support in a range of different ways, but all with the aim to help grow and scale up their businesses. Our guests ‘speed dated’ the different pathways in small groups, meeting all seven throughout the event.

Dan Kelly, Managing Director of BNI Norfolk & fit20 Norwich summed up the reason for the event within his feedback, he said “It was an excellent event. The support available to businesses has blown me away and far too many are unaware of what is out there.”

Dr. Morgan Potter, High Growth Manager for the New Anglia Growth Hub and lead for the Scale Up New Anglia (SUNA) programme was delighted with the event. “It has been another great event today. The highlight is getting so many great business leaders of companies from all sizes and sectors in one place and getting them in front of the pathways that could be the key to unlocking or developing their scale up potential. Everyone I have spoken to today has gained a positive outcome from this and the previous round table event. Can’t wait for the next ones and helping the businesses in Suffolk and Norfolk shine like the stars they are.”

On top of all the great information supplied by the different pathways, the networking and connections made between the attending businesses created a wonderfully engaging event. There is second “Exploring Pathways for Growth” event being planned for the autumn so do look out for this where other pathways will be represented and even if you attended this event, then there may be more for you to learn at the next.
